Grid Based Inventory System

Check out the first iteration of a grid based inventory system with item inspection and an inspect system for level design puzzle pieces and notes!

This first iteration of an inventory system allows for the player to easily move items around in their inventory using a spatial item system. On the right side once an item has been selected an inspect screen will appear with a 3D renderer allowing the player to rotate the item around in 3D space and look for possibly hidden messages written on items. This inspect screen also allows for the player to read a short description of the item and learn helpful information about how it is used.

I also created a basic inspect system that allows for the level designer to place key items around the world. These items pose no need to be stored in the inventory as the player does not need to interact with them in that capacity. They can however pick them up in the world and "look" at them by inspecting them and manipulating them in a 3D space. Along with a 3D viewer of the item there is also an item description that can display the text written on any notes the player picks up or any information about a puzzle piece.
